DCM - I Can See Clearly Now!

The Daring Cardmakers challenge this week is
I Can See Clearly Now
and I would love to see something clear on your card. It could be an acetate card, an acetate embellishment, a window cut in the card, clingfilm, OHP sheet, Mirror fragments - anything that shows that your card is clearly one of the best!

Do you ever have an idea of a card in your head that just doesn't translate on paper.  I've had 3 attempts using an acetate window, and this fairy stamp and I'm still not completely happy.

1st attempt - too many rounded corners and the fairy is too low...

2nd attempt - dropped the black inkpad on it...

3rd attempt - the card is too big for the image...

Now I'm thinking that maybe the papers just don't match the stamps!  Help!
Papers: Bo Bunny Tis The Season, Basic Grey June Bug
Stamps: Fairy and Sentiment Funstamps.

Allsorts Challenge #6

This week's Allsorts challenge theme is 'Wings'. There's a fab prize for the lucky winner, a Quickutz Squeeze! I used a previous ICS sketch (can't remember which one now) designed by Dawn Baty for the layout of this card. The paper is KandCo and the butterfly is cut from a pre printed sheet of vellum. The alphas are Making Memories. Thanks for looking x

Inspirational Card Sketch 18

Just love the ICS sketches, yet another great one this week and lots of inspiration from the design team, why not play along!
The papers are from the Funky Christmas Time download, so versatile they can be used for lots of other occasions too! The flower I made using a cuttlebug die, chipboard (cereal packet!) and acetate. Thanks for looking x

Dreams really do come true....

Got this ticket stamp as a freebie with 'The Craft Stamper" mag this month and used it as a starting point for this weeks sketch at ICS. Yet another fab sketch from the talented Dawn. This is what I came up with....
Not entirely happy with it still something missing methinks! Probably because it's such a dull uninspiring day here today and my crafting corner is in the conservatory overlooking the garden I can't help but let the weather affect my mood!
Anyway , back to the card - the paper is another Kate Knight design from the Eastern Blooms range and Coredinations whitewash., other bits and bobs from my craft box. Hope the weather is better wherever you are! Thanks for looking x

In the pink!

The basic grey challenge this week is a fab sketch from Christine, and here's my take on it...

I've used BG Euphoria papers, lots of pink ink and pink stitching. The heart is a stamp from the Inkadinkadoo 'thank you' set. It's been embossed with clear embossing powder and I've placed it inside of the card to show through the acetate window. Thanks for looking x

More shabby than chic!

The colour create challenge this week is black, white and pink. The most challenging aspect this week for me was my cuttlebug, the B plates are so bowed they weren't embossing or cutting evenly. So after the card was thrown across the room a couple of times I eventually came up with this...

I was trying to achieve the 'shabby chic' look, but as the title of the post hints at, I'm not too happy with the result. New 'B' plates are on order so I should be a lot happier next week! Thanks for looking x

Basic Grey Challenge 31 - Paper Piecing!

The Basic Grey challenge this week is 'Paper Piecing!'. I used a tulip paper piecing pattern from here. The sentiment is wishful thinking on my part as I planted some tulip bulbs exactly this colour and I'm hoping they will 'bloom' this spring, and aren't ravaged by the squirrels like last year!
The papers are Euphoria. I've also used Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder and a sizzix die.

Colour Create Challenge 11

The colour combo this week on colour create is choc coffee and cream and the extra detail is distressing. Struggled with the colours at first but then remembered my Pink Petticoat downloads had just the right shades!

Also used sizzix 'bloom' die, cuttlebug mesh embossing folder some acetate and of course some hand stitching. Out of my comfort zone with the colour palette but thoroughly enjoyed it!

Basic Grey Challenge 30 - choc soft centres

The Basic Grey Challenge this week is...

take inspiration from your favourite Chocolates :), so say your favourite chocolate is Mint chocolate, well you could then base the colours of your card on this so your card would be Brown and Green :)

I've made a wedding anniversary card inspired by one! of my favourite chocolate soft centres - coconut!

I've used Offbeat papers, Bazzil Basics die cut border, Cuttlebug script embossing folder American Crafts felt heart and hand stitiching, thanks for looking x

All things circular!

This week over at the DCM blog the dare is all about circles. I thought it would be a great opportunity to use the embossed buttons from Craftwork cards I bought recently.
I used pink chalk (not showing up very well in the photo) to colour the embossed images and highlighted with glitter and crystals. Also had a play with the cuttlebug embossing the acetate with the swiss dots folder - more circles!
