DCM - Here Comes the Sun

You can always rely on the DCM team to come up with a challenge to get the creativity flowing.  This week's challenge is

Here comes the sun!

Lets see some cards full of reds and oranges and yellows - or with lots of circles on them - or rays - anything that says sunshine to you!

This challenge was just what I needed to cheer me up.  I've had this card in mind for a while but not had time to get it down on paper.  I started with the scrap of fabric, it's from a batch of samples sent to me from Seamstar.  I really want to get into sewing again, I've had my new sewing machine about 6 months now, still nothing!  I've got a lovely book called  'Sew' by Cath Kidston on my birthday list, that's sure to get me going!  We live in hope!  Tfl :)xx

Paper: kraft parcel wrapping; Doodlebug crushed velvet

A Handbag!

Here's my entry for the Craftwork Cards 'Wrap' challenge, a handbag card using a bronze wrap from the 'Joy' kit.  There's a slight sparkly sheen to the wrap which makes it look like leather.  Not quite Lulu Guinness though, I know, but I did enjoy browsing the website, for inspiration ;)

A tutorial to make this card is HERE

Polka Doodles Week 7 - Sketch and Theme

Polka Doodles Friday again already!  This week has just flown for me and not much time for crafting being the school holidays, but couldn't miss this lovely sketch from Kris, and there's a theme too.  To feature a bird, well that was easy, all Nikky's CDs have at least one bird design so I was spoilt for choice.  I've gone for the Lovebirds papers and topper to make this notebook cover, love the cream and black on these papers.  Just added a few chipboard flowers and eyelets.  I think I'm going through an eyelet phase, can't seem to put the crop-a-dile down! Oh! Just realised I've missed the band across the bottom of the sketch, sorry Kris!
