Scallop Edge Cards...

Remember them?  I found a pack of unused square scallop edge card blanks in the depths of my craft cupboard.  It took me back to my early days of card making, they were all the rage and I thought they were state of the art.  Now there's all manner of different shapes to tempt us.
As these were the only cream card blanks I could find and to make them work for this design I trimmed the edge off the square to make them standard a6.  Now I kind of like scallop edges again and they work so well with this pretty stamp set.

  1. haha, the scalloped edge! I'm still partial to using the odd scallop now and again, but I know what you mean, they feel a bit retro already!

    1. I'm not a stamping expert but it could be because the stamp is new. I had to stamp a few times on scrap paper before getting a clear impression. I like Versafine too, more colours would be good :)x

  5. Hi Vicky, these two cards are beautiful, exactly the style I like. I must be old-fashioned, but I'm quite partial to a scalloped edge! These are adorable little vases. Perfectly CAS! Kx

  7. Funnily enough I dug mine out at the weekend too! There's nothing like a straight edge card is there. You've proved that scallop and CAS go together very well.
    Have a great week.

  8. Love a bit of bling and large bows etc but you really can't beat clear and simple...a few of these wrapped in a ribbon would make a lovely gift.

  9. Perfect CAS cards Vicky... love them!!

Re Marlou's question.... PTI suggest using a rubber on a clear stamp to begin with... and I must admit, I find that works well!

  10. I used some low tack tape over the top of a new stamp before inking it - it really does help. I do find that the acrylic stamps do take a bit more work than rubber but are well worth it!
These are gorgeous Vicky and I love that you have scallops at the top and bottom but straight on the outer edge - gorgeous Karen x
