I've been wanting to try some paper weaving ever since I saw this challenge over on the Create blog. The weaving was easy, it was harder to decide which patterns and colours would work together.
I decided on a grey/blue colour palette for a 'manly' look. Rummaged through my Pink Petticoat scrap box, cut various patterned papers into 1cm wide strips and played around until it looked right, another great scap buster!
For the tag I die cut some denim! I find these iron-on patches work really well in a die cutting machine because they have a heat seal backing that makes them easier to cut than regular denim.

Wow! This weaving looks fab and I think the blues and greys work really well.
ReplyDeleteLove the denim die cuts. I've never put material through my machine - I wonder if hubby would notice a few 'tag' holes in the bttom of his jeans??

Fabulous looking card and great colours you've put together, the stitching looks ace too. Thanks for the info on the wobbly font, I've since downloaded it.
ReplyDeleteThis is fab Vicky - love the paper weaving. It's ages since I did any - we did some at a class but cut the paper into wavy strips - it gives a lovely effect!
