DCM - February's Birthstone

This week's dare over at DCM is a birthstone dare and this month is Amethyst.  As usual some fabulous cards from the DT to inspire us.  So here goes with my entry, better late than never.  Struggled a bit with this one, completely out of my comfort zone, purple and stamping!  But you never learn if you don't try and I'm quite happy with the result.  Gradually getting over my fear of stamping.  Colouring will be next! tflx

Carol's Sketch Fun #19

A fab sketch this fortnight from the lovely Carol.  Just couldn't resist this one.  And it's official, I just love distress ink.  There I was with all the pieces of paper for this card set out and I thought there's something missing, it just doesn't work.  Then I inked all the edges with some Faded Jeans distress ink and 'viola' the whole card seemed to come together.  Just can't do without it!  Tflx
Papers: K&Co Denim and scraps from stash
Felt heart: American Crafts
Rubons: Doodlebug
White acrylic paint

Polka Doodles Week 5 - Paper Piecing

It's Friday so time for another Polka Doodles challenge.  This week it's been set by Claire who's a great fan of paper piecing. so that's this week's challenge.  Take your favourite image and paper piece it.
Digital images and papers are great for this.  You just print your image a couple of times on your different patterned papers, cut them out and fit and stick them together like a jigsaw.  I had great fun paper piecing Sherman the pig from the 'Back To Nature' CD.
To use a digi image with a pre printed paper pad,  I use repositionable spray adhesive.  First print your image on plain copy paper, stick your patterned paper over the top of the image with repositionable spray, put the paper back through the printer and print the image again.  The image should now be printed on the patterned paper.
Hope you can join in the fun with us this week.  Tfl x
