Supplies List
Spotted paper like the Dovecraft Bright Spark Collection
White and blue cardstock
Border punch or punch system
- Cut a square of white card 20 x 20 cm. Then score at 6cm on all four sides.
- Now at each corner square cut along one of the score lines to where the two folds cross, creating a flap.
- Apply glue or tape to the reverse of each corner flap. Then fold up to form the box base.
- Now cut a second square of white card 20.2 cm x 20.2 cm and repeat the steps above to form the box lid. But before adding glue to the flaps cover all 5 panels with yellow spotted paper.
- Punch 2 border strips 20 cm long and glue across both sides of the box lid
- To make the gift bow
Punch 3 edger strips 20cm in length and 1 strip 10cm long.
Take each of the 20 cm strips, hold in the centre and twist the end creating a loop and secure with glue.
Twist the opposite end in to the centre and secure with glue
Now layer the 3 double loops, adding glue to each layer and finish with the 10 cm loop in the centre.
Tip
To create my border strips I used the Woodware Crafty Edger (no longer available), alternatively you could use the Fiskars Advantedge Punch System, a double edged border punch like the Martha Stewart Crafts Double Link Double Edge Punch or a decorative border strip die.
Next week's project is a bear hugs treat card
Looks lovely! Jo x
