Going Postal...

is the theme over at DCM this week.  As always there's some fabulous cards from the Design Team.  This week I was particular inspired by Jo's card using postcards from HERE,
I even got my rubber stamps out, not something that happens often around here.  It could happen more often now I've got the hang of the Stamp-a ma-jig.

Thanks for the inspiration Jo. :)

Mum's The Word...

Is the theme for Challenge #15 over at Let's Craft and Create.  To make a card/project for Mum or a special lady in your life.
I'm entering this Altered Noteboook.  It started out as an A6 sketch pad.  I carefully removed the cover and decorated with paper strips, lace, ric rac and pearls finishing off with some machine stitching.  A good way to use up your scraps.

Fit for a Queen?

I really enjoyed making this card - a change from my usual style.  I've been inspired by the current challenge over on the City Crafter Challenge Blog so much shabby goodness over there.  My creativity has been flagging of late but this challenge - an opportunity to try something new - got me going again.
I've always enjoyed making shaped cards, but I've not always got the time to cut them out.!

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Anyone For Cake?

The Shabby Tea Room challenge this week is to

design a CARD, BANNER and/or GIFT with a BIRTHDAY OR CELEBRATION THEME!.

What better way to celebrate than with cake.  So I'm entering my card and matching cupcake box.  I found this pretty cupcake at the bakery that matched the papers perfectly, needless to say once the photo was taken the cake was eaten!
The Shabby girls are celebrating this week and there's lots of birthday giveaways and as always some gorgeous inspiration so be sure to check out their blog

In My Pocket!

Just a little pocket card to share.  I love how the bunny really looks like it's waving!
I'm entering it in the 'In My Pocket' challenge over at  City Crafter .  Check out their blog there's lots of lovely pocket cards for inspiration.

I had lots of fun deciding where to put the pocket on my card and after some deliberation I tucked it behind the centre panel.

Some Utility Cards!

Just some utility cards to share.  How is it you've never got the right card in your card box?  I needed a manly 'Get Well Soon' card and a 'New Baby Girl' card.  What did I have in my cardbox, a girlie Get Well Soon card and a New Baby Boy card.   So I've spent the morning making these.

Now I can't take a bit of credit for this cute little pram card I've completely copied the idea from Katie, my  Pink Petticoat team mate.  Katie makes such beautiful and original cards her blog is well worth a visit.

Playing with Shimmer Sprays

And now for something completely different...  I had to make a dreaded 'man' card and was inspired to get out the mists by the challenge over at Moxie Fab World - Stamping with Shimmer Sprays  .  There's lots of lovely inspiraiton over there, be sure to take a look.

It's fun to try a new technique now and again.  Tfl :)

City Crafter Challenge Week #46

Here's a tag and gift pocket card I made with the Pink Petticoat Material Girl set.
I used the Organics Kraft Paper pack printed on to 300gsm white card to make the pocket.
What I like best about the printable 'kraft' is that you can achieve a shabby white painted edge look so easily, by just sanding the edges to reveal the white core.

I'm entering it for the current challenge 'Spring Fling' over at City Crafter Challenge .  They're asking us to use spring colours and there's this lovely photo for inspiration.

What better time than Spring to start sewing!
