DCM - Die Cut Crazy

The challenge over at DCM this week is Die Cut Crazy.

I've used a die cut frame and  gone for a shabby chic style.  When my DS saw this card he said 'That paper looks like old fashioned wallpaper!'  I thought great that's exactly the look I wanted to achieve!
The layout I've used is the lovely sketch from Kazan over at 2S4Y.  So pleased my previous entry HERE made the fab five, what an honour.  I've been a bad blogger lately, hoping to put a stop to that now I'm back on track.  Tfl x

DCM - In a flap!

The challenge over at DCM this week is Getting in a flap!
I've been in a flap today with this challenge. Just realised it's Thursday so here's the quickest card I've ever made, if you hadn't guessed already lol!  This was my original idea last Friday and I've spent all week trying to think of something more sophisticated.  Lesson learnt - go with your first idea and stick to it.

Not sure I like it, bit too simple but I'm going to enter it anyway.  I could win the prize for the simplest card! :)

Card Purse for Project Tuesday

Phew what a week but just made this in time!  The challenge over at Project Tuesday is to make a Card Purse, I adapted the measurements to fit a standard A6 card and envelope.
Here's my set of cards made for a very dear friend as a thank you for getting tickets to the Chelsea Flower Show .  We've been before it's such a lovely day out so I can't wait!

Paper Flowers - How To...

Here's the tutorial for the shabby flowers I promised.

You will need a large flower punch, a piercing tool, some tiny brads and some paper of course!

1. Punch out 8 flowers.  You can ink the edges at this stage to add more definintion to the petals if you like.

Scrunch each flower into a ball as tight as you can.  You can spray water on them first if you prefer, this gives a shabbier look.
Open up each flower, and layer them up.
Secure with a tiny brad, it doesn't matter about colour matching as you won't see the brad when the flower is finished.  Scrunch up the first layer into the centre.
Continue scrunching up each layer to the centre.
until your flower looks like this.
Then open up the outer layers until you're happy with the look.
Enjoy!

A card for 2 sketches 4 U!

Here's my take on the fabulous sketch from Laura over at 2 sketches 4 u. It's been a while since I could find the time to join in.  The flower is twisted and rolled crepe paper, now I'm wondering if it looks like a bandage!  Tfl :)x

Diaper Fold Pouch for Project Tuesday

The challenge this week at Project Tuesday is to make a diaper fold pouch.  I had the added challenge of finding some papers to print that weren't pink or red lol! (see previous post). These lovely emerald green spotty papers were just right and not the usual thing I would go for.

This project has definitely got the creativity flowing again for me, I may even manage a card next!

Paper Flowers...

Well, I've got printer problems, any design that uses the magenta cartridge has banding on it, so I'm waiting for new cartridges which will hopefully sort it out, otherwise it's a new printer.  My paper collections are mainly digital so as you can imagine my patience is wearing a bit thin, no paper = no crafting.  But the good news is, I played around with the wasted prints and came up with these little beauties...

I love the shabbiness of them.  Thinking of doing a little photo tutorial for them at the weekend.  Tflx

Just a little break...

from cards!  Been having a play with a new paper CD and some templates I've found on a couple of blogs I follow.
A watering can.  Template link from HERE.

and a flower pot.  Template link from HERE.

The CD is Kirsty Wiseman's Colour Burst of fanciful things.  I love it.

Thanks for all you lovely comments
Enjoy your weekend.  :)x

Get Funky challenge - April

This month's it was Kathy's turn to set the theme and she's chosen April Showers a great choice don't you think with the weather we've been having, although the sun has decided to come out down south today and just as well as we're having our rather large apple tree pruned today.  I've given up trying to get a decent photo of this card the colours are much more vivid in real life lol!
Be sure to check out the Get Funky blog and see all the fabulous cards from the DT.  All you need to do to enter is make sure you use at least one Funky Hand paper or extra on your project.  The prize is a £20 voucher to spend at Funky Hand.
