BoyZone!

Here's my card for DCM this week,  just in case you hadn't guessed by the card, the theme is

BoyZone
and we'd like to see cards for Little Boys or Teenage Boys
(but not "Grown-Up" boys this time!)

Can't stop I'm off the the Chelsea Flower Show today and would you believe the weather has taken a turn for the worst so forget the posh frocks, it's jeans and trainers for me.  :)x

A-Bunting We Will Go!

This weeks dare at DCM is
A-Bunting We Will Go!
There seems to be an abundance of bunting everywhere at the moment and I expect more will appear soon in honour of the World Cup! I thought that it would be fun this week to add some bunting to our cards...

I've just noticed there's a Health and Safety issue with this card.  It looks like the cake candles are just about to set the bunting alight!  I was so pleased that I managed to score the acetate straight that I broke my paper trimmer trying to trim two layers of thick acetate.  I think the clue is in the name, it's PAPER trimmer.  How else do you trim acetate cards then?  :)x

Copy and Paste Project

Thought I'd challenge myself to something a little different.  There's a competition over on the Copy and Paste project to create something using some fun freebie images you can download.  I thought the cassette tape image was just perfect for a blokey 50th birthday card.  After all that denim and distressing I needed to create something a bit prettier and come up with this mini birthday card using the party hat image.

DCM - Emerald

This week's DCM dare is...
Emerald
The May birthstone is the Emerald and we'd like you to use this beautiful gem as the inspiration for your cards this week. We'd like to see more than just a tiny spot of emerald green on your cards, too!

I did enjoy this one.  When I first saw the theme I thought no, I haven't got anything emerald green I'll have to give it a miss.  Then I had a hunt through the craft box and discovered that I was wrong, put everything I did have together and came up with this card which turned out a whole lot better than I expected.  Don't you just love it when that happens.

Flutterby Flowers

Just wanted to share a couple of cards I made with the new Flutterby Flower download from Funky Hand.

I've simply paper pieced one of the butterly images to make both these cards, as I wanted some cards that could be mailed quite easily.  To check out the whole Flutterby Flower collection and the fabulous things my Funky Hand team mates have created with the digi images go HERE.  Tfl :)x

DCM - Easel Does It!

The dare this week over at DCM is
Easel Does it
They are so very popular at the moment but I'm hoping at least some of you will be up for my extra "sting in the tail" to this Dare - I don't want it to be too easy, you know....what I'd really love is to see what type of shape (other than a square) you can come up with using the basic Easel card idea.

Here's my circle easel card, much easier than I first thought, especially if you start with a circle card blank lol!  Sorry about the sunny photo, although I'm not complaining.  Loads to do today, our old conservatory is coming down tomorrow ready for a nice shiny new one, just got to figure out where to take my photos while we're without it.  Tfl x

Get Funky with shaped cards

Pinch, punch the first day of the month means it's time for another Get Funky challenge.  This month Enfys set us the challenge of making shaped cards, well I do love an excuse to make a handbag card.  The lovely lime green paper is from the Retro Wordbook download and the flowers were made from all my Funky Hand paper scraps.  Be sure to check out the Get Funky blog and see the fab and funky creations from my team mates. Why not join in the fun too, there's a £20 voucher to spend at Funky Hand for the winner all the entry details are on the blog.
