Inspirational Card Sketch #36

This weeks sponsor at ICS is Lindsay's Stamp Stuff so the DT got to choose an image to work with, I just couldn't resist 'Harry the Spider' and not being one for the colouring...yet! I traced him onto black card with a white pen and made a halloween card. Although I've seen creepier spiders! Be sure to check out the rest of the DT creations to see some more of Lindsay's images and some fab colouring. I'm gonna have to invest in some pens and learn how to do it! Oh I forgot to mention, there's 10 of Lindsay's digi images for this week's lucky winner!

DCM - Tartan it up!

The DCM dare this week is 'Tartan it Up'. Well I've been wondering what to do with the tartan BG June Bug paper and this was a perfect opportunity to come up with something. What I was trying to achieve with this card is a simple christmas card design that I can make a batch of quite easily and I think this may be it! On to something better now...

Look what goodies I received in the post this morning from my lovely blogging friend Lynda. A beautiful card, loads of Penny Black stamped images, tons of punched holly leaves and some fab ribbons, how sweet. It couldn't have come at a better time either, I was feeling a bit negative about the whole crafting thing and this parcel really made my day. So thank you so much Lynda, I was really touched.

Polka Doodles Challenge 18

The Polkadoodles challenge this week is

DIY Flowers (Do It Yourself / Make It Yourself Flowers)

Well, as luck would have it my Studio 490 stamp set had just arrived so an opportunity to follow this tutorial and make a beautiful rose! Mine is not quite beautiful, needs a bit of tweeking next time but not bad for a first attempt. Be sure to check out the Polkadoodles blog, great flowers from the DT and a tutorial too, there's still time to enter the challenge closes on Sunday.

Inspirational Card Sketch #35

ICS time again, and Dawn has given us another inspiring sketch to work with. Our very own Fink is sponsoring this weeks sketch, lots of goodies up for grabs to the lucky winner. Check out the ICS blog to see the fabby creations from the DT, lots of inspiration there.
For my card I used the Huge Thank You Circle Set from the Cutting Cafe. It's for my fabby friend who came sewing machine shopping with me last week and treated me to a walking foot (don't ask me what it's for but I'm told I need one lol!) to go with my new machine.
Found this great blog Sew Spoiled, with some fantastic projects, so inspiring, I don't know what to make first. Watch this space I'll be blogging my first sewing project pretty soon.!

Just can't get a good photo of this don't know why blue is so difficult to photograph.... anyway on to the matter in hand, the Polkadoodles challenge this week is 'Anything but a card'. I've made a memo block using a tutorial from HERE. It's a pressie for a friend who loves writing lists, just hope it's big enough!

Inspirational Card Sketch #34

Dawn from ICS has given us another fab sketch to work with and the sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe, the lucky winner will get to choose 3 sets from the Cutting Cafe store.
I was so pleased that the DT got to work with a selection of their amazing design sets, one of them being the Frame shaped card, which has been on my wish list for a while now.
I've decided to really get going with my christmas cards, and it's just as well 'cause this one took an absolute age, don't know why, it's not that spectacular, but I do know I was covered in glamour dust by the time I'd finished...
With such a fab sketch and a great prize there's no reason not to join in the fun this week, looking forward to see what you create!

Polka Doodles Challenge 16

Needed to make a quick 'congrats on passing your GCSEs' card for my hubby's goddaughter. I used the Polkadoodles challenge 'spots and stripes' for inspiration, just scraped in my the skin of my teeth, this one closes on Sunday. Be sure to check out the latest Polkadoodles challenge 'Anything But A Card' , there's some fab stuff from the DT to feast your eyes on. Tflxx

Allsorts Challenge #17

The Allsorts challenge this week is 'Something for the Boys!' a real challenge for me as I'm not keen on making 'boys' cards. Whenever I think of making one I groan, but I quite enjoyed this one, been wanting to use this template from Crafty Templates for a while now. It was a bit fiddly working with the tiny pockets especially as I kept dropping them on the floor and couldn't tell them apart from the other paper scraps! Tfl xx

Inspirational Card Sketch #33

Back into the swing after my holiday and this is what the mess on my crafting bench was all about, my ICS DT card for this week. Another super sketch designed by Dawn, so easy to create with. Lindsay the owner of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is our sponsor this week and is giving away 10 digi images of the winners choice. She has some really CUTE images too, the DT got to work with some of them. I've used the cupcake tree and simply coloured it with some distress inks, a bit of a rush job for me but be sure to check out the ICS blog for the other DT creations and see some more of the images on offer to the lucky winner.
There's also a DT Call for ICS which ends on 18th September, check it out HERE

Get Funky - September Challenge

This month the challenge at Get Funky has been set by Tip Top
Two Little Boys
Both my boys have their Birthdays in September - Jacob will be 4 and Samuel will be 6. So my challenge is to make a boy themed card, layout, project or what ever you fancy as long as it is aimed at a boy and uses a Funky Hand paper or extra.
For my card I've used a template from Crafty Templates and the papers are from the FH Girls and Boys download.

Hope you'll be joining in with the challenge, there's a whole month to enter and a fab prize of a £20.00 gift voucher to spend on the Funky Hand website to one lucky winner. All you need to do is follow this month's theme and use at least one FH paper or element in your design. Looking forward to see what you create and if you need some inspiration then be sure to check out the design team's fabby creations.
